How To Make Mango Ice-Cream At Home
You really don’t need any fancy, long-winded machines to make your own homemade ice-cream. You also don’t need any fancy ingredients to make our delicious, candied mango dessert. All you need is a high-speed blender and you’re good to go.
Tips for making homemade, blender ice-cream
- Always make sure you slice your bananas before freezing. A whole, frozen banana has the potential to buckle the blades of most blenders.
- Use very ripe bananas as they have a totally different texture to medium-ripe or unripe. Ripe bananas are also needed for their sweetness. You won’t want to be adding any extra sugar to your ice-cream, which will make it less healthy.
- Use as little fluids as possible, otherwise you may simply end up with a thick smoothie. This will still taste delicious, of course, but you want that ice-cream thickness if you’re really craving ice-cream. Add a little milk at a time, and make sure you bang down the ingredients to the bottom of your blender so that they don’t stick at the top. You can do this by banging your blender (with the lid or blade attached properly) on a towel so that you don’t damage it.
- Once you have a full spin going, be sure to blend for a full 30 seconds to get that ice-cream nice and creamy. Don’t be tempted to do less than this amount of time as it will affect the texture and may have lumps of icy fruit in it.
- Add your fluids first to your blender, then the rest of your ingredients on top. This will help prevent frozen fruits sticking to the bottom of your blender.
- Homemade ice-cream made in a blender doesn’t rend to freeze well, so eat immediately. Freezing can cause it to become rock hard or icy.

Equipment
- High speed blender
Ingredients
- 2 frozen, very ripe bananas Pre freeze for at least 3 hours before.
- 1 cup frozen mango
- 2 inches inches coconut cream milk or plant milk will work also.
- 4-5 chunks dried mango make sure it's sugar and preservative free.
- ½ tsp turmeric powder high quality with no bulking agents or preservatives.
Instructions
- Make sure you pre-freeze your very ripe bananas for a good few hours before you make your ice-cream. Overnight is ideal. Chop them up first so that they don't break your blender with big chunks.
- Add all ingredients to your high speed blender. Be sure to add your fluids first so that the rest of your ingredients don't stick or freeze to the bottom. Have a towel ready on your counter so that you can bang the ingredients down to the bottom of the blender (if you have one of those blenders where the blade screws into the top, this step is going to be helpful).
- Blend on full speed for no less than 30 seconds. You want this ice-cream to be creamy, and a long spin will get the texture that you want for the perfect ice-cream.
- Pour into a serving bowl or glass, top with extra chopped up dried mango pieces. Serve immediately as this does not freeze very well. Add extra fruits, chopped nuts, coconut flakes or whatever else you desire if you want to make this more filling.
