4 Ingredients Blueberry Crumble Recipe Made From Whole Foods
Equipment
- Mixing bowl
- Wooden spoon
- Oven dish 6-8 inches diameter
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups oats Jumbo rolled oats are best for this, but any will do.
- 2.5 cups frozen blueberries Preferably organic
- ½ cup maple syrup save 1 tbsp of this to mix with your blueberries
- 1 heaped tbsp cinnamon powder
- ¾ cup water
Instructions
- Get your blueberries out to thaw for an hour or so before you start recipe. Thaw them in the oven proof dish you will be baking your crumble in.
- Put your oven on to heat at around 180 celsius (360 fahrenheit).
- Meanwhile, prepare your crumble topping by mixing well together the rest of your ingredients in a mixing bowl. This is easily done by hand so no equipment is necessary.
- Once you berries are thawed you should take a fork and smash at least half of them down to release their juices and flavours. This will help make the delicious blueberry sauce that your berries will be in after baking. Add your tbsp of maple syrup and the water and mix well.
- Now top evenly with your oats mixture. Put it on a spoonful at a time so that you end up with an even topping. You also want to be careful with this process so your oats don't sink into the blueberries too much.
- Now bake for 30-40 minutes until well cooked and dark golden on top. If you have used various sized oven dishes then you may need to tweak cooking times slightly.
