Named after a very dear friend of mine who lost over 200lbs from drinking these, what we have now dubbed ‘The Plant Man Detox‘ is your ULTIMATE detoxifying, healing, cleansing, and weight loss smoothie.

In fact, I would go so far as to say that this ultimate, detoxifying greens and berries smoothie with microgreens is like no other smoothie on earth. It’s a life-changing drink and there is simply no better start to your day than getting one of these in your body first thing in your morning. It’s THAT POWERFUL!

What’s so good about this smoothie?

This detoxifying greens and berries smoothie has everything in it to give you energy, clarity, detoxification, weight loss, and a general feeling of well-being that you can get when you put the right nutrition into your body.

Nutrition is everything when it comes to how you feel about yourself and the world around you. If you eat junk foods, you’re going to feel just like that and that will reflect in everything about your life and how you interact with the world. This is no exaggeration, food really is that powerful and can turn a bad mood into a bright mood.

Not only that, what you put in your body at the start of your day is so important to how you will eat for the rest of your day. When you stabilise blood sugar and get proper hydration with your first meal, you will be less inclined to want to eat junk foods for the rest of your day. You’ll want to stay on the trajectory of feeling good, and so you’ll make better choices for lunch and dinner. This will ultimately  help you to consume less calories throughout your day to help boost your weight loss efforts.

What’s In This Detoxifying Smoothie?

This green smoothie is PACKED full of life-giving nutrition, antioxidants, phytochemicals, fibre, vitamins, minerals and the LOVE of Mother nature and all she provides for us. Everything is 100% natural, whole foods, and RAW.

Microgreens

Firstly, this greens smoothie it’s choc full of nutrients, mineral, and sulforaphane rich microgreens that have so many next level health benefits that I urge you to do your own research on them and you will be BLOWN AWAY. In fact, Hippocrates himself was healing his patients some 2,400 years ago with microgreens and sprouts, so they have the power and test of time behind them.

You can usually get your microgreens from large supermarkets. However, now that they are becoming more and more popular, many people now grow them and sell them on a small and sometimes larger scale from their homes or Businesses direct to customers.

Your best bet is to Google ‘Microgreens for sale’ in your local area. The fresher you can get your microgreens, the better. They start losing their sulforaphane after day 5 of their growth according to studies, so after this time you should either use them up or freeze them.

How about growing your own microgreens?

Another consideration, if you’re really serious about your health, is to begin growing your own like I am. You’ll find that it’s actually pretty easy with some simple equipment and 10x cheaper than buying them, ultimately. There is an abundance of videos from microgreen growing professionals on YouTube to help get you started on the right footing if this is the route you wish to take.

You don’t necessarily need to even use microgreens in this bad boy smoothie if you can’t get hold of them. Any dark greens such as spinach, kale, beet leaves, or Swiss chard are going to give you an abundance of minerals.

MEAL PLANS

What are microgreens?

Microgreens are very young, edible plants that are most commonly made from herbs, vegetables and greens. They are not germinated, nor are they mature by the time you pick them. They are perfect for use at the phase just after sprouting.

To put in layman’s terms, you simply plant the seed of your desired microgreen, such as cabbage, broccoli, cilantro, alfalfa, spinach, radish (there is no end to the seeds available all with different nutritional profiles) in a little earth or some other medium of choice. They then begin to sprout and are usually ready by day 5 to eat.

There is obviously more to it than what I have said, but this is the basic gist. Please be sure to find the correct information from experts before you attempt to do this.

The beauty of microgreens is you don’t even need a garden to grow them. They do well in jars or small trays on your counter top.

Watermelon

Next, the watermelon in this detox smoothie is going to hydrate your cells thoroughly and sustainably over a period of time. Watermelon is also high in vitamin C, lycopene, beta-carotene, and loaded with antioxidants. If you want to throw the seeds in (which I recommend you do add at least some of the seeds if your watermelon has any), then you’re also going to get a hit of omega 3 fatty acids and protein too.

Lemons

Lemons are the most detoxifying food you can eat and are highly alkaline. They are high in vitamin C, antioxidants, are anti-bacterial, and anti inflammatory. Lemons help to boost the immune system, are heart friendly, and their citric acid content helps to lower blood pressure.

The lemons in this smoothie are also VITAL if you want to mask the flavour of the greens!

Pineapple

This tropical fruit is super high in fibre that helps to clear debris from the digestive tract. This is obviously very useful in a detoxifying drink! Pineapple is also high in vitamin C, manganese, digestive enzymes such bromelain, and can boost immunity, lower chronic inflammation, and speed your recovery after exercise.

Berries

I recommend using a good mix of all the berries, such as blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, and strawberry because they all contain different antioxidants, folate, and anthocyanidins. These help you lose weight, lower blood pressure, reduce inflammation, and boost your immune system to name just a a FEW of the benefits of eating berries of all kinds.
